The CSA Professional Women’s League has undergone an exciting transformation, now rebranded as the Hollywoodbets Pro Series. This significant partnership between Cricket South Africa (CSA) and Hollywoodbets was officially unveiled at a special event in Sandton, marking a new era for women’s cricket in South Africa.
Both organizations have expressed a strong commitment to advancing cricket opportunities for women from all backgrounds and regions across the country.
CSA CEO, Pholetsi Moseki, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to enter into this vital partnership with Hollywoodbets. This collaboration opens up incredible possibilities for the growth of professional women’s cricket and the broader women’s sports landscape. Hollywoodbets brings a refreshing and dynamic perspective to women’s sport.”
He continued, “The Hollywoodbets Pro Series is set to embark on an exciting journey, aimed at discovering and nurturing fresh talent. This partnership will undoubtedly shape the future of women’s cricket, not just in South Africa but on a global scale.”
Devin Heffer, Hollywoodbets Brand and Communications Manager, echoed these sentiments, noting, “This marks a pivotal chapter in South African cricket as the women’s domestic game turns professional. We’ve already seen outstanding success in women’s football through our sponsorship of the Hollywoodbets Super League, and we are eager to have a similar impact on women’s cricket through the Hollywoodbets Pro Series.”
Heffer added, “South Africa is brimming with undiscovered talent, and this enhanced platform will help us find the next stars, following in the footsteps of greats like Nonkululeko Mlaba and Chloe Tryon. Alongside CSA, we aim to make cricket an attractive and rewarding sport for women nationwide, while also empowering communities through grassroots projects and sports development initiatives.”
With these commitments in place, the Hollywoodbets Pro Series is set to revolutionize the landscape of women’s cricket in South Africa.
