Vitality Roses ready to face SPAR Proteas in Spar Challenge 2026

England have named a strong and experienced Vitality Roses squad for the SPAR Challenge 2026, where they will face the SPAR Proteas in a three-Test international netball series in Johannesburg.

Coached by Jess Thirlby, the Roses arrive in South Africa boasting a blend of proven internationals and exciting talent, underlining their intent to challenge on African soil. The squad features key figures such as Helen Housby, Imogen Allison, Natalie Metcalf and Lois Pearson, alongside dynamic attackers including Halimat Adio and Funmi Fadoju, adding both depth and versatility across the court.

The series, to be staged at the Ellis Park Arena from 29 January to 1 February, will form part of the SPAR International Netball Test Series and promises high-intensity competition between two top-ranked nations. For the SPAR Proteas, the Tests present a valuable opportunity to measure themselves against one of the world’s leading teams, while England will look to build momentum early in their 2026 international campaign.

With world-class players on display and a passionate Johannesburg crowd expected, the stage is set for an exciting and fiercely contested series.
