The Reds produced a convincing 4-1 win over Bournemouth at Soldier Field, putting them in a strong position in the Premier League Summer Series ahead of Sunday night’s clash with Everton – which will be broadcast live on MUTV (excluding viewers in the US).
Striker Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring with a well-placed header, and Amorim praised the Denmark international’s sharpness and commitment.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Amorim addressed recent transfer rumours suggesting United are targeting another striker. However, he stressed that he is content with the current squad.

“It’s only pre-season, but when I look at the same players out there, they look like a completely different team,” Amorim remarked. “That’s a great sign. The key thing is that Rasmus is scoring, linking up well with the team, and showing real development.”
While he acknowledged that anything could happen before the transfer window closes, Amorim was full of praise for United’s three summer signings – Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon, and Bryan Mbeumo. Of the trio, only Leon featured in the Bournemouth match, coming off the bench and playing a role in Ethan Williams’s goal.
“I’m really pleased with Bryan, Matheus, and Diego,” said Amorim. “Diego, especially – he’s a smart, strong player, and for someone coming straight from Paraguay to the Premier League, he’s adapting quickly.”
