Pep Guardiola warns Manchester City Will ‘Have to Suffer’ in Scorching Orlando heat ahead of Juventus showdown

Pep Guardiola has admitted that his Manchester City side will be forced to endure tough conditions as they prepare to face Juventus in sweltering heat at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium.

With temperatures expected to soar above 30°C, the City boss is under no illusions about the physical demands of the upcoming clash.

“This heat is something we can’t control,” Guardiola said during his pre-match press conference. “We’ll just have to suffer and adapt. It’s not ideal, but we have to give our best regardless.”

While both Manchester City and Juventus have already secured their places in the last 16 after back-to-back wins, the match will decide who tops Group G. With both teams level on six points, the encounter is expected to be fiercely contested – and now, it comes with the added challenge of extreme weather.

“Playing indoors at the last stadium was perfect – it was air-conditioned and much easier on the players,” Guardiola noted. “This time, I’m planning my lineup with the second half in mind. In these conditions, it’s hard to maintain our usual tempo.”

The City manager also offered advice for fans attending the game: “Bring water, wear hats, carry towels. It’s going to be intense – for everyone.”

Squad Updates

Guardiola also provided updates on key players. Midfielder Rodri, still on the road to full recovery from a long-term injury, remains unavailable for a full 90 minutes.

“He’s not there yet,” said Guardiola. “But he’s improving. He’s played 30 to 35 minutes in the last two games, and over the past few days he hasn’t felt any of the usual discomfort that comes after such a long time out.”

Meanwhile, young midfielder Claudio Echeverri has been ruled out for the remainder of the tournament due to an ankle injury sustained during City’s dominant 6-0 win over Al Ain.

“He’ll be sidelined for two to three weeks,” Guardiola confirmed. “That gives us the opportunity to rotate and give other players a chance in this match and the next.”

With soaring temperatures, injury concerns, and top spot in the group on the line, Guardiola’s men face a true test of endurance in Orlando.
