Funeral details confirmed for former Springbok Women Captain Lusanda Dumke

Details for the funeral service of former Isuzu Bulls Daisies and Springbok Women captain Lusanda Dumke have been confirmed.

The service will take place on December 28, beginning at 8:30am with a family valedictory service, followed by the main funeral service at her home in KwaCentane, Eastern Cape. The proceedings will be held at eChebe, at the Kwa-Dumke family home, where Dumke will also be laid to rest.

KwaCentane is located approximately 143km from East London, with the R409 serving as the main access route.

Dumke, who passed away at the age of 29 after a battle with a rare gastric cancer, was widely respected for her leadership and contribution to women’s rugby in South Africa. She captained both the Isuzu Bulls Daisies and the Springbok Women’s team, leaving a lasting legacy on and off the field.
