The Group A encounter will take place at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 15h00. Both sides are using the regional competition as a vital build-up towards the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026, set to kick off in Morocco next month.
Head coach Desiree Ellis highlighted the importance of performance and squad balance as the team builds toward the continental showpiece.
“Our main focus is WAFCON, and this tournament is part of that journey,” Ellis said. “Of course we want to start strongly and get a result, but more importantly we want to see cohesion, energy and quality performances from the players.”

She added that the technical team will use the competition to assess both experienced internationals and emerging talent as they fine-tune the squad for WAFCON.
A total of 11 nations are competing in this year’s COSAFA Women’s Championship across three groups. The top team from each group, along with the best runner-up, will progress to the semi-finals scheduled for Friday, 27 February at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The final is set for 1 March 2026, with Zambia entering the tournament as defending champions.
