After a 1-1 draw against Algeria in their opener, Bafana knew a win was crucial. They started brightly, with Neo Maema scoring in the 10th minute after linking up neatly with Thabiso Kutumela.
However, the early lead didn’t last comfortably. South Africa dropped back and allowed Guinea to push forward, and eight minutes before the break, Moussa Camara equalised.

Ntseki’s side came out stronger in the second half, and once again struck 10 minutes in – this time Kutumela finding the net from a Wayde Jooste cut-back. The goal proved enough to seal three important points.
The win moves Bafana to second place in Group C, keeping them unbeaten ahead of Friday’s clash with Niger and a meeting with hosts Uganda next Monday.
