South Africa head into the encounter after a hard-fought 41-29 victory over Italy last weekend, but the win came at a cost, with injuries affecting key players in their backline.
Flyhalf Libbie Janse van Rensburg suffered an ankle injury against Italy and has returned to South Africa for further medical assessment, while wing Ayanda Malinga has also been ruled out after picking up a knee injury during the opening match against Wales.
The Springbok Women have responded by calling up Mary Zulu to provide additional cover at flyhalf.

Zulu brings valuable international experience to the squad, having earned 18 Test caps for South Africa. She also knows Spain well, having made her Test debut against the Spanish side in Madrid.
Her return comes at an important time for the team, with Byrhandré Dolf also facing a fitness race after undergoing a head injury assessment during the Italy match.
Spain will provide another stern test for the South Africans as the hosts prepare to welcome the Springbok Women in front of their home crowd in Seville.

For South Africa, Sunday’s clash is more than just the final match of their three-week European tour. It is another opportunity for the squad to show its depth, adapt to adversity and build momentum heading into the final Tests of the 2026 season.
With injuries reshaping the squad and Mary Zulu back in the mix, all eyes will be on Seville as the Springbok Women look to close out their tour on a strong note.
