Her debut came during South Africa’s commanding 104–25 victory over Tanzania in their opening pool game of the Africa Netball Cup in Lilongwe, Malawi.
Dames, who recently starred for the SPAR Baby Proteas at the Under-21 World Cup in Gibraltar, has long been highlighted as one of the brightest young talents in South African netball. Still within the U21 age group, she has progressed rapidly through the national pathway, showing maturity, accuracy and composure beyond her years.
Her impact on debut was immediate. Confident with ball in hand and sharp on attack, Dames slotted seamlessly into the senior setup – a smooth transition that reflects her strong development at youth level.

“It’s been my dream to play for the SPAR Proteas, and making my debut like this means everything,” she said after the match.
Head coach Jenny van Dyk praised her performance, noting the energy and depth she brings as South Africa begin their title defence at the tournament, which runs until 14 December.
With a standout debut and a Player of the Match medal already to her name, Dames has announced herself as an exciting new force in the SPAR Proteas lineup and a key figure to watch as the Africa Netball Cup continues.
